Jed and the Cold Bloods – Synopsis
Follow the exploits of sheriff Jed Marcusson as he struggles to protect the remote frontier town of Dormis from the predations of the foul things that dwell in the accursed valley to the north. To protect the lives and perhaps the very souls of the folks entrusted to his care, Jed must use every tool at his disposal, and even, to his consternation, endanger some of the very people he seeks to protect. Be it facing down monstrous beasts with naught but his trusty revolver to steady his hand, or struggling to retain the support of a scared and superstitious people, the sheriff has his hands full if he’s to have any hope of emerging victorious against the cold-blooded threat that assails his home.

Though he is not sure himself of their chances or the true nature of their abominable foe, stalwart Jed is bound by duty and honor to put on a brave face and stand against the darkness that threatens to engulf all in its frigid tide. With his loyal deputies at his back, his .45 in hand, and the wisdom of his father close to heart, Jed must battle not only the dark legacy left at his feet, not only the vicious beasts that dwell in the accursed mist, but most insidiously of all, the unfamiliar doubt that festers in him as he is truly tested for the first time. The lives of all hang in the balance. The sheriff can only hope to not falter in the face of the black despair ever mounting in his chest, and that for all of his father’s training, he will not be found wanting when the time comes.

Only one thing is certain: By the time all is said and done, Jed Marcusson will have learned not to so hastily dismiss the myriad myths that litter the western frontier that he calls home. After all, as anyone who’s lived there for any time will tell you, you never can truly know what of the old tales is fiction and what begins after a fashion to look all too horribly like fact.
